A black onyx disc anchors each face, held in twin halos: 56 round brilliants around the face, then 60 calibré-cut tapered baguettes forming the outer wall. Every baguette is cut individually to follow the contour of the centre stone. There are no standard baguettes in this house.
Cast in 18k rose gold with the signature swivel back. Onyx gives the diamond nothing to compete with, which is the whole point of the piece. Sold as a pair, made to your order.
The centre is walled twice. The inner tier is round brilliant, close set and continuous. The outer tier is a wall of tapered baguettes, each one cut to a different measurement so the ring closes without a gap. Against a matt black centre any error in that wall is visible, so there is no margin in the setting.
We hold a tolerance far narrower than the trade does. Stones that would pass anywhere else are sent back. That is the whole business, and it is the reason a ZALXNDRA piece looks the way it does at arm's length.
The setting is built in order, tier by tier, by a single setter. Nothing is farmed out mid-piece. It is slower, and it is the only way the outer wall closes cleanly.
